Jorge and I were so excited to visit Koh Phi Phi for the first time.(where Leonardo DiCaprio filmed The Beach) We were wrong staying in Phuket too long( I believe just 2 nights is enough). We bought the island hopping tour to Bamboo island, Koh PhiPhi, PhiPhi don, and Maya Bay. The trip was incredible and we did not regret that we booked the tour.
The tour came to pick us up from the hotel and meet up at Nopparat beach, gather up to a group and dock up to a speedboat.
The Speedboat was fun. We first stop at Bamboo island. The water was incredible. The sun came out and made water even clear and shine like a water in the pool. The island is amazing with white sand and light blue sea (the best we saw in Krabi area), despite it’s definitively too crowded with plenty of boats stopping here during the Phi Phi islands tour. We found it the best water ever.
Next stop is the Viking cave, but there was just a passing by. That Viking cave is the Interesting site but you cannot enter. Locals live in the cave and harvest bird nest materials for making the famous bird's nest soup. I found it ok, we passed it and stop at Pileh Lagoon.
Pileh Lagoon is so enormous and beautiful. The time we arrived was raining and stop. The Pileh Lagoon was just like a pool surrounding with limestone cliffs and crystal clear water. We stay there swimming and we loved it so much. This Pileh Lagoon is our favorite spot so far. When the sun came out, the water got clearer and more beautiful. The tour stopped here and let us jump out from the boat to the water. It was an awesome experience.
The tour did not guarantee if we can get into Maya bay because the wind and the wave were so dangerous. I prayed so hard to make the wind and rain stop. You know some heard my prayers and we had a chance to visit Maya Bay.
The time we entered the bay was stunning. We could not take our eyes out of the view. We stay there for an hour. There were so many people at the bay. I believe the best time to visit is 6 am to 19 am. A place that you must visit once in life. The cliffs are green and the water is crystal clear. Now I understand why this beach become so famous and I don't mind the and stay there for a day even it is so busy and crowded. There is a fee for the entrance -400 baths.
After we spend time at Maya Bay. The tour took us to Koh Phi Phi don for lunch. The tour took us to the big cafeteria for the buffet. The food was ok. and then we got back to the boat for snorkeling.
This is the best part so far of the tour. We got a chance to do this for the very first time and fell in love with it. The fish and coral were so interesting. We had so much fun that day. I recommend everyone to try island hopping and do your best to visit Maya Bay at least once in life.
